Toy appeal to help create more smiles in Slough

November 16, 2019

Slough Children’s Services Trust has just launched its Christmas Toy Appeal to ensure that every disadvantaged child across the borough receives a gift on Christmas day and gets to experience some of the magic of Christmas that other children do.

The Trust is asking people in Slough to add just one extra gift to their Christmas shopping and help make Christmas a bit more special for the many children whose families may be going through difficult times. Each gift will then be distributed ready to be put under the Christmas tree in time for the big day.

“Our toy appeal is the perfect way for people to act in the true spirit of Christmas and give a gift to children and young people who otherwise may not receive anything,” said Kirsty Demar, who coordinates the appeal at the Trust. “Our appeal relies on the kindness of the people in this great borough, and every year we are overwhelmed by their generosity.”

The Trust would particularly appreciate gifts for older children. If you are able to support the appeal then gifts can be delivered to their offices at St Martins Place, 51 Bath Road, Slough between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please mark gifts, which do not need to be wrapped, for the attention of Kirsty Demar and they must be received by Monday 16 December.
