Christmas toy appeal launched for children in care

December 4, 2018

Slough Children’s Services Trust has just launched its Christmas Toy Appeal to ensure that every child in care across the borough receives a gift on Christmas day and gets to experience some of the magic of Christmas that other children do.

This year the Trust is asking Slough residents to add just one extra gift to their Christmas shopping and help make Christmas a bit more special for the many children who don’t have a family of their own to support them.

“This time of year is a special occasion for many children with the excitement of waking up on Christmas morning to presents under the tree,” said Debbie Bailey, who coordinates the appeal at the Trust. “This isn’t always the case for children in our care, however, so we want to make sure they don’t feel left out, and also get to experience that same excitement.”

The Trust would particularly appreciate gifts for older children. If you are able to support the appeal then gifts can be delivered to their offices at St Martins Place, 51 Bath Road, Slough between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please mark gifts, which do not need to be wrapped, for the attention of Debbie Bailey and they must be received by Monday 17 December.
