Making a permanent, positive change to a young person’s life

You can read the transcript of the video below.

My motivation to become a foster carer is… I know personally the difference having an adult champion, advocate and believe in you can make to you and your outcomes.

The most rewarding memory as being a foster carer for me is each time we see a child laugh or smile, we’re doing their first… going to the beach or achieving something.

The team at Slough are like family to me. The support and the training is second to none, and they are there for me as much as a parent and as a foster carer.

The best thing about fostering for me and my family is just knowing the permanent, positive change we’re having on that young person’s life and watching them grow and develop and trust in the adults around them.

The benefits of fostering for me, as a parent, is watching the impact it’s had on my children’s emotional development. I have three of the most beautiful well-rounded children as a direct result of their fostering experiences.
