Social Activities

Slough Children First hosts a number of activities and events throughout the year to celebrate our foster carers and thank them for their incredible service.

In addition to the annual Foster Carer Awards (see below) and the lunch we host every year during Foster Care Fortnight, to thank our amazing foster carers for all for their dedication and hard work, there are numerous social events held throughout the year.

The Slough Fostering Association (set up by our foster carers) does a lot ‘behind the scenes’ to offer a range of events for carers, their children and the children they look after, including days out and coffee mornings.

Annual Foster Carer Awards

Every year we host a sit-down meal to thank foster carers for all they have done in the past year. The events always have a special recognition awards for outstanding achievements by carers, awards are given for long service. When the formal presentations are over, dancing finishes off the night.

Foster sibling activities – KidsCare2!

Keep in touch with us to find out the latest activities for your children to attend. It’s important that we hold events where the whole family can attend but it’s also important that your natural children, who take on the role of sibling to their foster brothers and sisters, get time on their own to have fun and have some undivided attention.

We want to hear from you!
